Hi all,

I am relocating to the Orlando area and have been looking at the Mission Club Villas located on International Dr as a potential new home. Is this a safe area? I have two elementary aged children and my number one priority is an A rated school... I would appreciate any feedback!

Thanks,
K

It's a transient area, those villas are not going to be owner occupied and you'll have a lot of short term rentals, so your kids will never get to have friends in their neighborhood. Additionally I'd be concerned about which schools your kids would be going to there.

I can't imagine dealing with that traffic in and out every day. Ugh!

Safe, relatively on that end of I-Drive, but not in the sense of being in a community where you know your neighbors and watch out for each other.

Thanks Annerk!

Do you have any suggestions for family oriented communities/areas? My kids are very active and I would love to be close to activites (football leagues, gymnastics, swimming) for them but also in an area with an excellent elementary school.

I work from home, so location is not too important.

I'd look at one of the more suburban areas. Do you want a condo or single family home?

I want a single family home but don't want to exceed $1100/mth. I have seem some listings on Craig's List but I have had a few warnings that some of those "too good to be true' deals are probably just that.

I'd first figure out where you want to live--northern burbs, western burbs, southern burbs, and then get a Realtor to help you locate a house.
