I came across this wonderful KCET site on Orange County and wanted to share. This is an "off the beaten path" view of Orange County that I am sure many residents/visitors might enjoy.

"A People’s Guide to Orange County" is an alternative tour guide that documents sites of oppression, resistance, struggle and transformation in Orange County, California. Written by Elaine Lewinnek, Thuy Vo Dang and Gustavo Arellano, this guidebook offers a view of the county beyond its high-profile amusement parks or the beaches.

Every month, the authors will be sharing a series of surprising stories that reveal the complexity of Orange County's histories. This month, Lewinnek, Vo Dang and Arellano uncover the contradictory legacies of the Cold War on Orange County.

Thanks for sharing. I love to learn history (even when it's rather depressing) and OC/LA sure has a lot more than we gloss over. We don't have a Freedom Trail, but this might be the best we have. Our local Spectrum News use to have a segment on Lost LA that was really interesting. There were segments about the Venice Canals, Little Tokyo pre/post internment, lynching in LA, the freeway system, Bunker Hill, etc.
