What does "easy" mean?
What part of LA?
What time of day?
Do you have navigation electronics to use (garmin, smartphone)?

A cab will probably be very expensive even to the closest part of wherever in LA you would be going.

Renting a car is almost always the best (cost, flexibility, convenience) thing to do.

That's not bad for traffic (though you'll probably hit a little).

You'd be on the 405 the entire way. One freeway. No decisions or transitions.

Should be easy.

Whether you rent a car or hire one of those shuttles depends on where else you want to go, and how long you will need transportation.
