Default welcome back

I have been in this sleepy OK town for around 7 years. I have met numerous California people who have left the golden state. A house in town can range from 18K to 45K. And its just too good to pass up. Both my sisters left California to prevent their boys from becoming gangbangers. IMHO, you can't beat a smaller school. Even with all the problems associated with a smaller community, it's still worth it.
Back in the old days, the California city I grew up in (Bell Gardens) was known as "billy-goat acres" because so many people were from Oklahoma and Arkansas. And believe you me, when you get to Oklahoma, you will know what I mean!
I saw an ad for a small house for $11K in Holdenville, OK. That is not a typo. Eleven thousand dollars. Sure its probably old, but in Los Angeles, you couldn't buy a cardboard box on skid row for that price.

It's very difficult to help given the small amount of information. I'm from a very small town called Gerty, which doesn't have a school anymore. However, the nearby town of Allen (pop. 1000) does have an elementary school, middle, and high school. They have basketball, football, and baseball. Sadly, I heard the football team went to an 8 man league in the last several years. They were always pretty competitive in sports. You might try Davis, which is about 45 miles to the Southwest. A much larger town, but still small with a population of about 5,000. Davis is well known for its great football teams. As for the quality of the schools in either of those places; I think you will end up taking from them what you put in. In other words, small towns don't offer everything that a large city would offer, but there are some good, dedicated teachers in those places and if a student works hard and tries, they can do well.

After reading your post again, I see that your area is limited due to where you are going to be moving. I can't help you regarding that part of the state. Sorry.
