The record back in 1957 was 47.88 inches. This year it's 48 inches. I think most of it fell in my backyard. This information is in an article in my daily paper, but I can't get it to show up in the online version.

Wettest year ever in Dallas area too. Almost 60 inches about 5 inches above the old record. We knocked its socks off. Wet year in our part of the country is pretty nice

48 inches? Wow! Texas 60? Hilo, Hawaii, which is supposed to get the most rainfall, gets around 62 a year. when we lived in Pensacola, FL we got 65 inches a year, and I hated that it rained all the time.Study Reveals Top 10 Wettest U.S. Cities
