Hello,

I was wondering if there were any places on Indian reservations that sell cigarettes tax-free? I know they do in New York and I was wondering if it was the same in Oklahoma.

Replies would be appreciated

There's lots of "Smoke Shops" in Oklahoma, several here in the Lawton area where I suppose cigarettes are cheaper, I don't know the finer points about being tax-free though. I always figured tobacco still had the federal tax stamp, so at a minimum you would be paying the federal taxes on the item....New York included.

Indian cigarettes from the manufacturer around Grove cost about $20 per carton + tax. It is less than half of what I pay.

I have a relative from Texas that comes to Oklahoma on business quite often. He buys several boxes of chewing tobacco every time he's here at some place down around Davis, Pauls Valley or somewhere in southern/central Oklahoma. He says it's much cheaper than buying it at home. I have no idea though where or how much he saves. I don't personally know anyone here that uses tobacco, so I don't have more knowledge than that.

Is that close to the Texas-Oklahoma border?

I'll be coming from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be specific.
