There hasn't been a thread on Hamilton in 10 years.. What's it like now?

What about the area MLK-6TH - HIGH ST?

Lots of development. Several buildings just north of that intersection, which were vacant for years, have been gutted and are now dorms for foreign college students, and also some commercial spaces. There are also plans in the works for a development along the river, converting some old buildings along with some new construction, into an entertainment complex.

I don't live in Hamilton, but I work for a contractor who has done or bid on some of the projects listed above. We consider it to be an up and coming area.

I am sure there are still some rundown areas and parts of town not considered to be as safe as others.

The World's Largest Sports training facility will be openng in downtown Hamilton I believe later this year.

Lotsa development happening in Hamilton and a similar urban Renaissance is percolating upriver in Middletown.

There was a really good article written by author and journalist Peter Davis in 1982 about how he percieved Hamilton, Ohio to be the quintessential American town based on demographics, history, culture and population density, replacing Muncie, Indiana, which previously held this title for many decades prior.

Here it is. I'd be interested to get other people's opinions on this;

There have been numerous events already held at Spooky Nook. Here is an article from the paper earlier this year that gives some additional information.

I was just there recently for the first time. My son's travel basketball team had an AAU game at the Spooky Nook. Quite the impressive facility! There were teams there from so many different states, i lost count.
