Thumbs up Update

Here is an article updating the progress of the development...out of all the mixed-use developments proposed in Lake County, this is one of the main ones to come together!

Munster intersection realignment rolls along; some Centennial Village condos already reserved

Why on earth does the state of Indiana have to approve liquor licenses for a municipality? It's a local issue, and while these licenses were approved, a denial could be a major step back for development. Why should officials from around the state have to weigh in on whether or not a town issues liquor licenses, and how do they even have time to micro manage local affairs like this?

If i understand correctly, municipalities are allotted a certain number of licenses by the state based upon their population. In order to exceed that amount, the state must be petitioned. Muster petitioned the state to increase this amount, not to issue the actual permits. Hope that clears up your confusion on this.

Centennial Village adds two more higher-end retail/restaurant locations:

Chicago's high-end Rosebud Steakhouse coming to Munster

Katie Rose Boutique opens in Munster

The building that Katie Rose is in appears to be almost complete. I have heard that condo sales had done well but do not have any current data on how well and if there is still momentum. They are extremely pricey and parking is not included (and is also pricey). Overall, it is great to see this progress!

Looking forward to Rosebud. Outside of Theo's and Gino's, I've struggled to find a real high level steakhouse for a special occasion.
