I think it was on the strip where now the Wyoming Valley Mall is. I'm guessing it was a Mariott or Treadway, but I'm not sure--it's where I drank my first mudslide, and, where I got engaged (can't ask the ex lol for obvious reasons). Can anyone jog my memory?

Somewhere in the deep, dark recesses of my fading memory, I seem to recall that the Woodlands was, at one time, a Treadway. Or else I'm just getting old.

On Kidder St - across from where the car dealership is now? There was a hotel there with a restaurant and on weekends music and dancing. I think it was the Econo Lodge?

Yes, the Woodlands was the Treadway Inn. There wasn't a Marriott anywhere near there at the time. In fact, the mall was just about the only thing up there. There was a bar on Rt. 115 near E. Mountain Dr., Melody Inn, The Carriage Stop Inn?

I remember another one, The Host, Master Host Inn. It would have been around where McDonalds or Toys R Us is now on Kidder St, the strip. The name changed in the late '70s or early '80s. They offered pool memberships in the summer.

Anyone remember Aldino's Manor?

My Grandmother used to be the host at "The Host". I believe it was managed at the time by a now deceased family friend Mr. Rooney going back into the early 70's. His son owns Rooney's Irish Pub on main St. Pittston .

If that is the one you're thinking of I could get a lot of information.
