We are in the process of purchasing a home in The Hideout. Does anyone have any information with regards to this community and any crime that it's known for? Thank you.

Default Check out this post

My family has had a vacation home here for the past 10 years and have never had any problems. The security guards are very strict so I don't think crime is an issue. Also check out this previous thread. Hope this helps!

You might PM ILOVEPA. She has a wealth of information about The Hideout as she has lived there for 13 years. You could also search this forum and I'm sure you will see the many posts regarding The Hideout.

Hi, yes, I have lived in The Hideout for 13 years. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions. Basically, as far as crime goes, you can pretty much leave that behind! Isn't that nice to hear. I live my life without ever being concerned about crime in general. Hideout Security does do a wonderful job. I have posted numerous replies to Hideout question, you can search for them or I'd be happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.
Welcome!!

We love the Hideout. So much so that we are looking to rent a house there for a few months next "winter" ( maybe november, december and january, or dec, jan, feb ) to see how we ( mostly my Wife ) can deal with a winter there. If it works out, and assuming the r.e. market weakens there which we think will happen, then we'll look to buy a second home there.

I spent a summer there--my parents were there for a year. Crime was pretty much zero as far as I could tell, as it was a gated community. The house we stayed in was really nice, as is the little lake, good tennis, etc. Only criticism I had was that the people didn't seem very friendly, but that was just my experience and I wasn't there for very long.

LILRick, It looks like CHSgrad has not been on city-data since 2007.

...and an almost-four-year-old post can still draw responses. Let's all wait to see if MrsTudo did or did not make it through the winter of '07. tick...tick...tick...
