Haymount and Skye Drive are the two areas of Fayetteville. Actually some pretty impressive architecture you might not expect. Some great mid century modern homes given when the area boomed too.

One observation I like to add is that probably half of the group we are discussing likes to live far back from the street so that you don't ever see the house itself.

It's funny to think about an excessive, large home with all the expensive, exterior ornamentation sitting back acres from the road and hidden by trees. There are many here though.

Someone questioned Asheville earlier on and neighborhoods there would include Montford, Grove Park and Biltmore Forest.

In Greensboro the three old money rich neighborhoods are Irving Park, Sedgefield(where the PGA Wyndham Championship is played) and Starmount. Sunset Hills could probably be included as well.

Cool "Old Money" in Chapelborro

Neighborhoods like Gimghoul, especially around the castle, and Wexford are where many families with older money reside. Also anyone living near UNC Chapel Hill's campus, or along East Franklin running from the intersection with Columbia St. to the Walgreens off of Estes. The noveau riche people oftentimes settle for McMansions in Chatham County, mainly in soulless neighborhoods like the Governor's Club and Briar Chapel. Anyway, no matter where in Chapel Hill you live, it will be unsatisfactory and/or expensive.
