That is 100% pure speculation on your part that does not hold water. You are doing the exact same thing as many others that have replied in this thread. Let's stick to the concrete evidence. What we do have know for a FACT is that there is actually physical proof that there were gifts and we know that they are gifts meant for others because it was around Christmas.
And also what we do know is that gifts are meant for others. Like I said it was during Christmas. I don't know how much she knew of the other people, but she knew them enough to know their names and what to get them.
That is what we do know.
And I also know that I have received an awful lot of rep from posters from my original post, so I'm clearly not alone in agreeing with the moral of this story......
Were the gifts ever unwrapped? Were the named recipients found?
The young lady Joyce Vincent died in her apartment sometime in December 2003 while she was wrapping Christmas presents for people that she thought loved and cared for her. Bailiffs showed up on January 26, 2006 due to unpaid rent and found her remains next to a shopping bag surrounded by lots of Christmas presents she had wrapped but hadn't yet sent out.
Not one single person had tried to call or check up on her in over two years.
This has always stuck with me the most over the years more than any other story because it tells me that the vast majority of people you consider friends don't give a damn about you, don't care what you're going through and don't care enough to call or check up on you to see how you are doing.
This lady was thoughtful enough to go to the store and pick out gifts for people she considered her friends.
Moral of the story: Be very cautious of who you consider a friend. The vast majority of people you think actually care about you, really don't give a damn.
Well, that was another story I could have happily gone the rest of my life without reading.
Very depressing -- but even more sad, imo, for MANY reasons.
Personally, I'd wonder more why her landlord didn't check on her when she missed months and months of payments!
Remember that before the last ten years or so it was a lot easier to drop out of sight of your loved ones if you wanted to. For all you know she was wrapping the presents for a church or a charity.
