[quote=twentyfour01;4652016]Letchworth State Park (1 hour southwest of Rochester)

Letchworth is really a tremendous state park... 17 miles long... you really need a couple days to see it all. It has the feel of a mini-national park in some ways. Very fancy and well maintained.

I wonder if people planning to move to Upstate NY realize that New York State has one of the best park systems in the world! I've lived here all my life and I haven't even scratched the surface of the beautiful places to see and camp at...[/quote Most of the people that visit only know about NYC, and almost never venture out of it, therefore, miss the beauty of New York State!

Cohoes Falls (sorry, not much water flowing when I was there)

The Hudson river just north of Peekskill

Wappinger Falls - funky building downtown on the edge of the falls

Some attractive old homes in Nyack (I know, getting kind of downstate here)

The Hudson river north of West Point.

The whole gang gathered near a small park in Newburgh.

A nice old building in the Uptown section of Kingston.

A building on the campus of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

Some landscaping in downtown Glens Falls

A house for thin folks in Hudson, NY.

New York State Capitol as seen from the Empire State Plaza.

Downtown Albany

I know there's not a ton of nature in these pics, but this is also upstate.

A great thread, because its amazing how few people realize the beauty of NY. They tend to just think of the city. I'm going to see if I can dig up some old pictures from when I went to oneonta.
