Some of these cities would be on their death beds if it weren't for Hispanic immigration.
not really immigration, well atleast in Buffalo & Rochester.. In those 2 cities over 80% of Hispanics are Puerto Rican. They can be found on the West side of Buffalo, and the western & northern portions of Rochester. Dunkirk & Niagara Falls also has alot of Ricans. Puerto Ricans are the overwhelming majority of Hispanics in Western NY (basically the Great Lakes portion)
Going eastward, cities like Binghampton, Syracuse, Utica, Albany/Schenectady have Hispanic communities where Ricans are still dominant, but theres also a large number of Dominicans & Mexicans too.
The Lower Hudson Valley (Westchester/Rockland counties), closest to NYC, have large numbers of Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, & Mexicans. Especially areas near the Bronx, Yonkers for example has a large Hispanic/Dominican population.

I would say that even going east north of the Hudson Valley/Catskills, most Hispanics are Puerto Rican, but you can find some Dominicans(especially around Utica's Bleeker Street) and some Mexicans. Amsterdam, Geneva and Newark also have quite a few Puerto Ricans as well. To a lesser degree in Watertown, Oswego/Fulton, Gloversville and Rome.
Nah man....Again, this is all about information about a community that doesn't get mentioned too much on here or little is known about to many people. It also is to inform those of said background of what is in Upstate NY, which may be stereotyped in terms of what is in the region. It is the same for the other similar threads.
