Those cans are clearly made of some type of non-combustible material (looks like metal to me), and he's holding them without any protection for his hands

How did he not get burned

For real! That can damage nerves and maybe he doesn't feel it anymore, or not significantly to the point where he can hold them without gloves.

I think there are some chefs/cooks who have developed that to some degree, but not to this extent.

Yes, people in the restaurant industry get burnt

Have you ever gotten burned before? I've gotten a few 2nd degree burns, they hurt!
