This is what I've predicted. But short term rental are still here in NYC just with different apps and platforms. NYC will have a hard time banning any app or platform from listing short term stays. AirBnB was just the popular choice and plenty of alternatives are popping up.

Banning AirBnB is one thing, we haven't seen any regulation to quickly ban Squatters. Who is looking out of the people?

I’m thinking of starting a website for squatters to find potential homes.
Like maybe putting together a database of vacant properties and second homes.
Something like that. I bet I’d be killing it in no time.

A professional anti-squatter said that there are over 500,000 migrants in NYC. If they were to learn how to squat, NYC is the squatter's paradise.

That’s why certain issues never get resolved. There is always someone that contributes to the problem.

Regulations usually will do more harm than good in a capitalistic society. Letting the market determine and fix the problem usually is the simplest solution. Even with regulations it won't solve the same because the market will always work around regulations.

The ban on AirBnB units is nothing but a sell out to the hotel industry and unions, who fear the competition.

Squatting generally requires empty/abandoned buildings/units to move into. Do you see a lot of that in NYC?
