I personally knew (socially, not friends with) two different real estate investors over 20 years ago who inflated the appraisal of their properties when applying for bank loans. After trial they were found guilty and got large fines, one man received 2 year sentence to be served on weekends, the other I think was on probation for some time. Both were fairly well off, not in business together but operated in the same county.
Trump was found guilty of breaking the law. If some people in New York think he did nothing wrong they should push to change the laws.
You say that but we know if Trump is elected in November he will try to find a way modify those laws in New York State. This would be his most expedient way to get out from under that $354 million fine and to continue his business as before in the state.

He has assured us that he will advocate "the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution" - we are going to find out how strong that 10th amendment really is.

If Trump was reelected again, he can easily kill any proposals the Fed has earmarked for NY. I don't know why NY even dared to hand out such a verdict knowing well it will be appealed. I think a lot of liberals also sounded off on many of their constituents lust to go after Trump using such unprecedented measures.

The fallout of this will be the NYC that went for broke using this tactic, even if Trump doesn't win POTUS. The toll on local business activity will fall. Companies that view these suits as future opportunities for class action suits to pile up against companies.

When laws are applied selectively by a government the rule of law fails no equal treatment under the law results in those with choices leaving such a governed place for one when wrong doers are punished to protect others.

In the case of trump who was harmed? Loan was repaid and those who think there is only one market value for real estate assets are smoking something. Your own governor claimed we won’t treat others like we did trump. Try to get a written guarantee on that empty promise shown to be. Lie by past experience.

As a Real Estate investor, it's crucial to assess the ever-changing landscape of markets and regulations. The decision to shift focus from NYC to Florida and Texas in light of recent developments reflects the strategic adaptability required in this industry. Each market presents its own opportunities and challenges, and it's commendable to see proactive measures being taken to navigate them effectively. Best wishes for success in the new endeavors!

Agreed. If elected, Trump will do a Gerald Ford and tell NYC to "drop dead". I don't see him taking the high road and letting bygones be bygones. NYC politicians have no foresight and act before they think (see AOC and Amazon).

I know you're taking the middle ground, but why would anyone take the high road and let bygones be bygones. They said even before election they were coming after him. I sure as hell would get even too. The hatred towards him is off the charts.

It's beyond normal and civil. if he wins, then I say paybacks a b#tch.

DOes no one think Kennedy can win? A closet Republican/Democrat. Giving both sides what they want while restoring silly belief in this lie called Democracy?

Nah, who are we kidding. Its 2 parties. You must choose one and start barking at another.
