Odds that the city suspends alternate side tomorow for the 1-3" of snow coming?

Seems like since deBlasio took over, the tinyest bit of snow, we get suspensions. I'm not complaining b/c I own a car, but does anyone remember what it was like during Giuliani or Bloomberg.

Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Not sure on ASP during their terms but I know school was almost never cancelled back then. The blizzard of 96 was the first time school had been canceled for snow in maybe 15-20 years. Then it seems as an adult it was getting canceled once a year for small storms.

Check here for NYCDOT press releases, any ASP suspensions will be announced there.

ASP has always been more of a revenue scam than about clean streets. The outer borough neighborhoods without any ASP generally have the cleanest streets in the city.

Probably all depends on when it starts.

ASP cancelled for tomorrow. ASP is definitely needed in parts of Brooklyn. People think the street is a good place to dump the garbage from their cars.

Doubt it, when the city makes millions a date on parking fines. Where they gonna get money to pay for the migrant's laundry service. While I gotta go out and wash my own laundry.

At this point it's not really about snowfall amounts, actual or predicted. But more simple fact DSNY does not have manpower and equipment to cover everything.

Same trucks that plow and perhaps spread salt can often be those that also collect trash. Then you also need manpower to staff those vehicles regardless of dedicated snow removal purpose or whatever else.

Monday was a holiday, so no trash pick-up. Nothing happened on Tuesday or Wednesday (recycling day) either. DSNY finally swung around on Thursday for everything (trash, each sort of recycling). Next scheduled collection day is Friday. Let's see what happens....

That's because B de B was an eejit who catered to his peeps.

Grew up on SI back in days when it effing snowed. We're talking several feet at a pop. Catholic, private and public schools were often open. My parents made it clear: "if school's open, you're going"!
