It’s a newer system. Started up in 1966 vs 1904 for NYC, so no surprise that it’s better in many ways — just like newer US subways are. No surprise there. But unlike us, it isn’t a 24/7 system. Shuts down at about midnight IIRC.
Dunno often you leave the USA but almost every country I’ve been to all over the world is better than nyc lol. Only claim we can say is “we are 24hrs” lol.

That's pretty significant, IMO. As is the relative affordability of the subway system here (the flat fee is significantly less expensive than many others, which often charge by distance, etc.).
Added comfort, less noise, etc., are all great to be sure. And I wish that the NYC system was more comfortable, cooler on the platforms, etc. But while I'd ultimately want the whole package, I wouldn't trade 24/7 operations to get that all. Not when we've been surviving without for generations.
