Adjusted for national QOL trends I'd say the only two that stand out different for me are all the migrants being shipped to us & the rat population. Otherwise pretty status quo & I'd rather live here than somewhere else where ample parking is the main attraction.

In 2019 the city didn't have 140,000+ in homeless shelters, subway crime was less, you didn't see undocumented migrants outside of Roosevelt hotel and people selling mangos at subway stations. Jackson Heights, Queens now look third world compare to 2019, crime was less in city overall in 2019.

I believe you are making a very wise decision.
Stick to what's left of the nicer outer boroughs.

With NYC having a net loss of 80-90k tax payers annually since the start the pandemic. It will get worse each year as more and more communists like AOC will get voted into government to give more handouts to the migrants and make no arrest on thefts and crime.

We are following the same trajectory as SF, Seattle, and Portland. The well to do in those cities flock to the suburbs and all you get is all these communists running the city.

So we need the rich people to support the services? Lol. No wonder the serfdom mentality still exists.

Biden will give billions for affordable housing to cities and states for incentives to turn commercial real estate to residential, with tax breaks, special loan rates, etc. taxpayers will be bailing out commercial real estate losses around the country, and to house the less fortunate (illegals?) not just in NY.
