Not so much the news because I agree with others that the news can’t always be trusted. But it shows in the data that causes are going up. NY positivity rate is already almost 15%, which means almost 1 in 6 people have Covid. That’s alarming!
what? no it means in 6 people being tested have covid. So 8,000 people got tested on one day from your data and 1126 tested positive. That's complete different than 1 in 6 people having covid.
Cases per 100k people for the week- 4.4 people. Let's round that up to 5 people per 100k.
in other words one in 20 thousand not 1 in 6. and let's not pretend this is the 2020 variant with no treatments, ways to test, way less knowledge etc. it's some 2023 mild variant with good treatments.
I will never take another covid test. For over 2 years I had to take 2-3 a week for work. I'm done with them. I don't take test for the flu. If I feel sick. I just stay home and rest till I feel better.

stop the fear mongering.
Yes, it’s actually worse because many people aren’t getting tested. So you would have to assume that FAR MORE than 1 in 6 people are testing positive for Covid. Because don’t forget, we’re significantly undercounting cases!
It's anti-maskers like you that are causing cases to rise again. I promise you that if everyone continued with mask wearing, we wouldn't be seeing a spike in cases right now. And that's why I've been preaching mask wearing for the longest time. If we continue to stop our precautions prematurely, then Covid will keep on coming back stronger than ever.
"Using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, no significant differences were found in COVID-19 case growth between states with or without mask mandates, during periods of low or high transmission."
I used to have a link to a collection of 8 studies that showed that masks did not work, but a couple of months into the COVID thing, the article was removed, along with many others that I had previously linked.

Mask mandates did no good because too many people refused to follow them.
Dude (TheWiseShopper)! Why do you keep posting Covid19 threads? Just do you and stop worrying about other people.
For the one millionth time… OTHER people not wearing masks is what is spreading Covid and killing people! I can be the only one masking, but Covid will still spread and kill people. The only way to stop Covid from speaking and killing people is for EVERYONE to wear masks.
People keep saying we don’t have a solution to get rid of Covid. Yes we do!! It’s MASKS!!! Not vaccines or boosters! It’s masks! That’s it. Wear them and Covid will be gone!

Bingo! We have a winner!
