Yanks are a joke, I don't think Hal cares. His brother did, but he croaked.
He's not as outspoken that doesn't mean he doesn't care.2nd-3rd highest payroll in baseball so it's hard to say he doesn't care. Now he has kept cashman and that front office way too long but that's different than not caring.

They have a high payroll but make the money back in tenfold due to the fan base and prestige of the brand
But does anyone in the organization make really moves to try to win it all?
Look at the Astros and dodgers, they make big moves all the time and make the Championship Series or World Series routinely (and when they lost the AL/NLCS it is considered an upset. No one has thought the Yankees would win the ALCS for a long, long time….maybe 2017, which was an upstart and unexpected year based on preseason expectations).

But people get nostalgic for George when George getting suspended was the best thing to ever happened to the Yankees. When he was also interfering they were never good and they'd trade all of their young prospects.

Agree that George was overrated
If he didn’t get banned from baseball he probably would’ve traded jeter and Mo for some washed up guys
The Yankees haven’t been under .500 this late in the season for nearly 30 years
