My corner lot house front door is facing the main street, I would like to make the front door facing the side street, which is more quiet for my front door. I know it will need to change the address number / street address, so which city department should I contact ?
I am from Fresh Meadows Queens in New York . Any suggestion and idea is welcome to share

You may not need to change your address. One of our old homes was a corner house & the mail box was actually on the street that was not our address. Now we have another corner home, & the front & back door are on the street that is not our address. I would check with the post office & the city hall. But I live in CA, so maybe it is different.

Your house may already have a 2nd address on the side street. Plug in your address at the link below if there is a 2nd address it will appear below the primary address. If no 2nd address appears then you may have to change the address of your house. Contact your Councilmember. This sounds like it could be a big deal.

Plug in your address here: http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/bispi00.jsp
