Why do some NYC-area bridges, tunnels, & highways charge tolls (and often high tolls) yet others never charge ANY tolls?

There are 789 bridges in NYC maintained by NYCDOT. Betcha didn't know that.

I thought the congestion tax was only to entering the lower half of Manhattan even in common city streets?

i am surprised a law suit was never brought because these tolls have become an unfair tax based on nothing more then the direction you go in .

the money goes in to the same tax funds as other tax money where it is given to agencies like the mta.

you can drive east for 120 miles with no tolls but go to the bronx or staten island and you are taxed

Problem with the lawsuit is standing to sue. A person must have a particularized injury, not one suffered by everyone, to sue. Otherwise the Courts would wind up relitigating a lot of legislative decisions.

well we are all injured enough by paying an unjust tax for a class action suit i would think .

i just got a notice i am part of a class action suit against verizon because i was charged an unjust fee by them , the court ruled
