Anyway, the OP may be from a decade ago, but I bet today there are people with the same or similar question as the OP. If they search the internet and come upon this thread, their same or similar question of the OP will have some very up-to-date answers of various places. At the end of the day, no neighborhood today is exactly the same as they were a decade ago, though for many the changes are minimal. For others the changes are extreme and some neighborhoods of today didn't exist a decade ago (not the case in much NYC with perhaps Staten Island being an exception, but it certainly is the case in the suburbs and in many other areas of the USA.)
