I live in NJ, but my favorite place for breakfast is in Cambridge, MA. My favorite breakfast is medium well cooked steak and eggs over easy with rye toast,a Bloody Mary, and an endless cup of coffee. The S&S Restaurant makes the best breakfast in my opinion. I wish this place would relocate to NJ.
There's a truck stop in Columbia, NJ, just prior to crossing into Pa. that, IMO, puts other truck stops to shame. At Christmas, the school kids donate money to the truck stop to pay for the truckers' meals since they can't be home for the holidays. The food and service are great also.
While I love porkrolleggandcheese wit saltpepperketchup and our bagels are great, personally I think our diners are the best on the planet and I can get a great breakfast 24/7 in almost any town. Personal diner favorites are ham and cheese omelettes with home fries and pancakes and sausage, although there are plenty of additional good breakfast items in any diner.
And, for the record, there ought to be a way to have the word, "grits" stricken from any threads on Jersey breakfasts. It's jarringly incongruous, lol...
sorry I'll keep the grits comments to a minimum....................except to say they taste like wet newspaper. Give me processed pork anyday!
Hmmmm, Make that mozerella cheese and add diced tomatos and toast the roll and you have a breakfast I'd fight for.
Make that two of 'em then.
