I still have family there and all of Irvington isn't rough; it's mostly the areas that border that pocket of Newark, but if you know that area that connects Irvington, the west side side of Newark on up to East Orange, it is the most challenged and most destitute, I agree with whoever said to get rid of the condemned homes, then pump some life in the schools, and go from there. The reputation of the schools is very sad; even Newark and Jersey City have some decent high schools now.
