How the heck did the ballot question pass? Water systems? County College "improvements"?
People must not know how to read and are just hitting YES
I was surprised that it passed too. My gf and I are both pretty far left, but we split on this issue. I voted no. Even the local left-leaning papers endorsed a "NO" vote.
Maybe the NJ version of her will be able to explain how the "Medicare for all" plan will be paid for.
Funny, even a study funded by the Koch brothers concluded "medicare for all" would be cheaper than our current system. If you took all the monies spent by employers and the public that would pay for it, and guess what? You wouldn't have people like the CEO of Aetna or whatever making multi-million dollar salaries for denying care to people. Maybe a bottle of saline that costs a dollar wouldn't cost hundreds on a hospital bill. People might not die because they choose between rent and medications.

Even on a national level:
With the waste in DC (and yes IMO there's still waste), it could pay for this type of idea.
BUT it would have to have the best services in the world, otherwise IMHO no dice.

Yup!
Even the extremely conservative Mercatus Institute at George Mason University concluded that--at worst--it would be revenue-neutral, and--more than likely--would cost less than the fragmented private insurer system that we currently have.
Not so excited about another 500m of debt. We are going to need to start raising more taxes or cutting public pensions/medical benefits if we want to stay solvent.
That was a shock to me, I and every progressive that I know were against it.
Sherrill is a newcomer so I don't know what she'll do for NJ
I expect her to do quite well for her constituents.
I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes NJ Gov. or US Sen. in a very short time.
