My girlfriend and I are trying to look for affordable places to move to that are close to PATCO so she and I could get to Philly for the Art Institute. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to give your budget. Do you want to walk, bus it or drive to PATCO? Also, do you definitely want to be in CH or Voorhees or are you open to other towns?

Our budget is $800-$1000 at the moment. We prefer to walk to PATCO and we were recommended to CH and Voorhees but if there is anywhere else that is as good we would like to know about that too.

I think you would do better in Collingswood or Westmont personally. Both these locations are much more pedestrian friendly and I think you could find something decent in your price range. In Westmont, Haddon Hills apartments are in easy walking distance of the PATCO train. In both towns there are a number of twins and duplexes that could be in your price range - I would check southjersey.craigslist.org, Main St Realty and just driving around (lots of people put FOR RENT signs out in front). Good luck.

The one place I could suggest is Robin Hill Apartments in the Ashland section of Voorhees (the address is 331 Preston Ave.). My wife and I lived there for a short period of time after being relocated back to NJ for work. It was a nice complex and was a short (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile) walk through a residential neighborhood to the Ashland PATCO station. Rents there are around $850 for a one bedroom and $1,100 for a two bedroom and include heat and water/sewer.

The Collingswood and Westmont suggestion is also good as there are a lot of rentals in those areas. There is also more stuff to do on Haddon Ave. that would be within walking distance. While Robin Hill is an easy walk to PATCO, you pretty much need to drive everywhere else.

Robin Hill would be nice but they do not allow dogs but thank for that info. We saw Cramer Hill that was definitely in our price range and allows both cats and dogs. But we were wondering if that was a good area or not.

Those are located in Camden correct? The answer then would be HELL NO. As far as Camden goes, that is about as nice as it gets, but you couldn't PAY most people to live there.

Everywhere we looked at where in Camden for some reason. Well more like Camden County. We've decided to look at other areas that are near PATCO.

Cramer Hill is a section of Camden. Forget Camden (the city) if you value your life.

The only place that I can think of in Cherry Hill that is walkable to PATCO is Waterford. It's a hike, but walkable. They are older apts, but not a problem. The complax is also on a bus route between the Moorestown Mall & the PATCO station in Haddonfield.
