Hello Everybody! Don't see too many posts for the Myrtle Beach area. I'm from New York (Northern Westchester County) and we will be relocating to NMB in Tidewater. Been vacationing in MB for a quite a few years now, have a couple of friends in the area which will make it sweeter. Anybody headed or living in that direction?

Hi Gladys, my retired parents are headed to NMB next month from KY. I am in OH and have been away from my family too long. So I plan to be there by January. Plan to take a trip there in Aug/Sept. - Look for a place to live, interview hopefully. Seems like that area is getting ready to EXPLODE. ! I am very excited!

My family and I vacation in North Myrtle Beach every year and we love it there. We will be moving to South Carolina next year but not NMB. The only reason is because houses and insurance cost a little more there and the schools are'nt to good. I have 2 school age kids. Good luck.

Thanks for the response Angela and Kimbo123! Believe it or not I'm NOT in a flood zone. I know the schools aren't great because my friend drives a school bus so I hear first hand how the kids behave. We're going down for vacation in August hopefully by then we'll be finished with our house plans and decide on a builder.

Even though you are not in a flood zone, consider getting flood insurance anyway. You can probably get a policy for less than $500 a year.
