Hi all, just moved here from Atlanta GA area with my fiancee a few weeks ago. So far pretty good, but still looking for a decent job!
ATL has lots of different restaurants/bars/sports bars that had free poker tournaments during the week, but I have yet to see ANY places here yet that do it! I already know about the Sun Cruz Casino boat in Little River, but I'm really not into gambling, just playing poker for fun.
So if anyone knows any places I could try, let me know. Thanks!
I don't think there is anyplace yet, but we are working on starting it up. We had it back in jersey as well.
I'll keep you posted. Hopefully we will be up and running in a month or so.
Great! Thanks for the info. Are you trying to start a league, where say you might have poker at several places (had a few of these in ATL), or just at one particular establishment?
Yeah, we wanted to start a league. Got a business plan together and everything. Unfortunately, the gaming laws in S.C. make it illegal, beleive it or not---regardless of the fact that it is free. We were really disappointed, but we don't have the will or the resources to try and challenge the law.

This is shocking. I can't believe (in this day and age?) you can't even play FREE poker to win restaurant gift certificates and other prizes. I guess I have been out of the loop on this one, never would have thought that sort of thing could actually be illegal. I think it it just like playing trivia.
Did a google search and realized that this is a bit of a hot topic lately, but I don't necessarily think we should have legalized gambling. Also, found several places up the road in Wilmington that have poker leagues...
Looking for an update on free poker for fun in the myrtle beach area, I too also lived in atl and played for for and restaurant certs. Wondering if they have become available here.
