Hi. I currently reside in Port Huron, MI. There's an agency, called MichiganWorks, that pays for people to go to school, as long as their career is in high demand, such as nursing, criminal justice, etc. And as long as the program will only take 2 years to complete. Is there anything like that in South Carolina, specifically Myrtle Beach?
My fiance lives down there with her family, and wants me to relocate down there when she gets a job, but I didn't want to without doing some research, and if I can get MichiganWorks to pay for school, then it would be silly to go down there and pay for it myself. The only thing I could find was for the SC Commerce/Workforce Development, and I don't think that's what I'm looking for. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The type of school you may be looking for in this area would be a technical college. Horry-Georgetown Technical College would be the local one with campuses in Conway, Myrtle Beach and Georgetown. Tech training in many employment fields. Don't know of any programs that will pay for your education if you're not a SC resident, but you might want to check out financial aid at their website, www.hgtc.edu

Thank you for your reply. I sent away for some info about HGTC and received it in the mail. I think I will work for a year before I sign up, so I don't have to pay out-of-state rates for classes. It looks like a good place to go!
