hello everyone me and the family are going to mb in july we go to georgetown to go crabbing is there some where in the myrtle beach area we can go to crabbing.
I'd think there are several places in Murrel's Inlet that you could go to. Where are you staying in Myrtle Beach? Some of the camprounds have places inside that might also be good. How serious a crabber are you?
I don't know the laws about crabbing. Do you need a license or can I just find a pier with my chicken necks, string and nets and have at it? Really would love to experience this with my children. I grew up in Maryland, so crabbing is second nature.
You can crab off the Marshwalk pier in Murrells Inlet- lots of space and parking. You should have a South Carolina Fishing License which can be picked up at the sporting goods cash register of any Walmart.
Has anyone ever done crabbing off Oyster Shell Landing in Murrells Inlet?
Mornin' baylovers. I kayak out of there a good bit but never tried crabbing there. I've seen others crabbing down there. I don't recall seeing much success, but I could be wrong. Most of the area has a very gradual slope, so if you're chicken-neckin' you're gonna be dragging the crab across the bottom for a ways. Not sure how well that will work. If you don't mind doing a little serious wading, one of the collapsible traps might do okay.
I see people kayaking in the creek all the time. It's especially beautiful in the early mornings. Try to head over to goat island to see the goats and peacocks.
As far as crabbing, you need to do it off a dock in a salt marsh.
Can anyone tell me how to get to a creek in murrells inlet to do some crabbing and whe nis the best time to go
