I know that one town has outlawed smoking on the beach; I think it was Surfside. What are the other cities doing about this?

Thus far, other local municipalities are practicing free enterprise, permitting each business to do what they believe is in their own best interests. They are also waiting to see what happens in Surfside, since several lawsuits are in process. It's also hard to say what the real status is in Surfside. As far as I know, restrictions are in place. At the same time, it's not hard to find smoking in Surfside.

Thanks, PawleysDude. I am looking specifically for beach (sand and water) bans as opposed to real estate property. If a condo is designated non-smoking I don't have a problem complying with that but I'd like to be able to light up when I'm lying on the beach soaking up rays! I didn't know that there were lawsuits ongoing regarding the Surfside ban but suspected there would be when the ban was announced.

Oops, sorry.... reading comprehension and tequila don't mix

As far as I know, Surfside is the only place that has implemented smoking bans on the beach. You should be fine anywhere else around MB. Sullivans Island, near Chasn, has some smoking bans in place, but I don't think they include their beaches.

lol pawleysdude! I consider myself to be a polite smoker but I live with someone whom I wouldn't consider to be polite about it in any shape or form.
