We will be in Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving and will be going to a restaurant for our turkey dinner. Besides K & W Cafeteria, does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants open on Thanksgiving that will have a good traditional Thanksgiving dinner? We will be in Surfside.

Kingston Plantation used to do a great Thanksgiving buffet, although it has been a while since I had it

Most every restaurant in town is open for Thanksgiving anymore. This is a trend that started about 109 years ago.. Prior to that your options were pretty limited...

If I grab an actual paper in the next day or so, I'll try and get a better list for you. Regardless, you won't have to worry about finding somewhere to get a good meal..

Default Thoroughbreds

If you're looking for fine dining, I'd recommend Thoroughbreds Restaurant. Service and food have always been top notch. I'm not sure of the Thanksgiving price, but I think you may be able to still get a reservation as tourism is a bit down this year.

Thoroughbreds Restaurant, 9706 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. 843-497-2636 It's located at Hwy. 17 and Lake Arrowhead Rd.

Ryan's will have a Thanksgiving dinner menu. It's located in the Surfside/Hwy 544/Hwy 17 Bypass area beside Wal-Mart.

If you're looking for somewhere a little closer to where you're staying, I recommend Saltwater Creek Cafe in Murrells Inlet. Since they're not actually on the Inlet, they fly a little more under the radar, but they have a strong local following and IMO, they have some of the best food in our area at reasonable prices. They've announced a traditional Thanksgiving meal for that day.

Hanser House in Pawleys Island, also serves a traditional Thanksgiving meal, starting at 11am. Their regular menu will also be available. I haven't seen their pricing yet for the meal, but it's usually less expensive than most of the other places around. You might email 'em for details. We'll be eating there.

Wherever you go, I strongly recommend reservations.

Default Myrtle Beach Restaurant News

Here is a link to our local food critic's website. She is wonderful and shares great information. The link I am sharing is for Thanksgiving meals, but anyone who has questions about restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area would be well advised to search her website.

Hope this doesn't violate TOS. Don't think it would because I have no affiliation with the website and it is open to the public.

We like Damon's at the south end of Ocean Blvd. Good food (traditional turkey dinner with all the fixin's), great view of the ocean, good service. And the best part - seconds are included.
