Hi Everyone! Happy to be back on here! We lived here over 13 years ago in the Surfside beach area and rented in the Deerfield community. We are now getting ready to move back just my husband and I and our fifty pound dog and a cat. We will be buying a condo or in a over 55 community although I see that there is a 20 pound weight limit for dogs in those communities. Our price range is not large! Anyone know the pet policies for buying in a Condo community? The market is crazy right now and our home here isn’t on the market yet in Pa. We’re taking our time but would like to know where to even begin to look without calling an agent yet. Thanks!

There will be PLENTY of other communities that don't have a "weight limit" on your dog...although some places do place restrictions on BREEDS....
I would definitely call a RE agent, and let them start checking around for you.

I belong to three condo associations. Even though they all have pet rules and requirements, my experience is that the pet rules are rarely enforced. If your pet is well behaved and you follow the leash and waste cleanup protocols, you will probably not have a problem.
