Hello all! Looking at moving to the area in the next year and wondered how easy it is the see a GP or GYN or Internist as a new patient. We are retired and on Medicare and will need to look at new Doctors at some point. We are looking anywhere from Murrells Inlet all the way to Wilmington, though closer to Myrtle Beach is so far winning out. Any insight on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks
We, personally, have not encountered any problems finding or scheduling appointments with doctors. Sometimes, the lead times are stretched out a little especially with Covid. But, overall, not really a problem.
However, I have seen complaints over the years in this form where others have complained that they cannot find a doctor or have had to wait a year for an appointment. Not sure why they are having a different experience but it's something to be aware of. I know that some doctors won't take patients on Medicare if they don't have a Supplement or have Medicare Advantage and some doctors will not take Medicaid patients so perhaps that accounts for some bad experiences but there's no way to know for certain.
