My son up north is interested in relocating and I'm trying to compile information for him. Especially important to keep in mind when he does look is to know areas where flooding took place so as to avoid them. I know there's a part of Longs that flooded terribly and some areas along the Waccamaw River. It would be helpful if folks would kindly note to me where there was flooding in the Myrtle Beach areas, Little River or Longs. Thanks

The better question is where might it flood in the future. Here's a link to the Horry County flood map. It takes a minute for the overlay to load so give it time to load. https://www.horrycounty.org/gis/flood/

It's also easier to show a few communities that suffered no flooding issues during Florence, Matthew or the 2015 floods. Barefoot Resort, Grande Dunes and the higher sections of River Hills didn't have any flooding issues during these storms. I'm sure there are many others too. Generally, I'd be leery of anything along Rt 9.

Lafayette Park in Little River was also untouched by the rain in October of 2015 .
