We will be in the Myrtle Beach area,on our way from NC to Bluffton SC, in search of our retirement home. We have time to tour a couple of communities. There are just too many communities to choose from. I hope there is someone to help us narrow things down.
We are looking for a community, that is fairly close too the beach, but off the beaten track...quiet. We would like too have a few ammenities, such as bocce, shuffleboard, a few clubs. Price range is up too 3k.
We also do not want anything on leased land. Thanks for any suggestions.

You want to check out Princes Creek. They are in Murrells Inlet and only about 4 miles to beach. Beautiful 55+ neighborhoods. There are 2 different communities. See which is best for you.

We didn`t care for the Myrtle beach area at all....looked at several communities. We landed in Sc. Wish we went to Florida. Winters here are just not warm enough.

Myrtle Beach has more golf courses than anywhere on this earth. And the North Carolina border going inland's about the same way.

So if you're a golfer, it's especially attractive. And if you're an offshore fisherman, it'd be a good place to be.

Otherwise, it's much like some Florida coastline cities, but colder in winter. Home prices can be right, however.

Just curious if you don't mind sharing where you ended up (general region). I think you are saying you ended up in South Carolina..

Can you tell me where you moved from to move to SC. We are on LI and trying to decide between SC and Florida.
