We have sold our home up north and are moving to South Carolina the beginning of May. It would be me, my wife, and our three boys all under the age of ten. I work from home and my wife homeschools. We are pretty much home bodies so the night life isn't that important. Would like the basic conveniences close like a grocery store, bank, etc. The price range for a home is between $500-$700 thousand.

We were first thinking of Myrtle Beach and had looked at the Bluffs on the Water Way and also Cypress Plantation. We liked the Bluffs, but the homes were too close for us and were hoping for more acreage. Cypress was better as far as space and seems more established.

However we recently discovered Prince/Collins Creek. We liked that they have larger lots and the builders seem to leave many of the trees up instead of taking them all down. We aren't familiar with the area and were looking for advice and any pros/cons on the area. Also, any other neighborhood you could recommend.

Any info you can give would be appreciated!

We rented a house in Prince Creek (Bellwood Landing) for a year before we built our home here in Cypress River Plantation. Both are very nice areas but we preferred Cypress River because of larger treed lots, wider roads in community and river access within our community. You can build your own custom house in here for your budget with no problem.

pm me if you have any questions I could answer for you. I'm not in real estate business at all, I'm a retired pharmacist who moved from Long Island in May 2017 with my wife and moved into our new home in May 2018. We LOVE it here, plenty of kids in our neighborhood!

Love Prince Creek! I used to live back there but keep in mind it is so dark at night! Not a lot of street lights.

Great place for families.

Thanks for the feedback, we thought the area would be nice because it is far enough away from the action at Myrtle Beach.

We are also looking at Cypress Plantation and other surrounding neighborhoods. It seems that the houses at Cypress are more affordable and bth neighborhoods are beautiful. Just wondering if there are any qualities about Prince Creek that would make it worth the extra money?

Cypress River is a community of about 540 lots and maybe at this time about 400 homes finished. Prince Creek is several communities of many more homes in total. I think maybe at the current time the inventory of more expensive homes listed is showing up in prince creek more so than Cypress River. I really don't think prince creek is more expensive. A good real estate person would know for sure.

That makes sense, both areas seem very similar, but Cypress looks like it may have better amenities. I don't think we could go wrong with either of them. That's why we like the Myrtle Beach area, so many neighborhoods to choose from it's hard to decide.

We just don't like the neighborhoods where all of the trees have been mowed down and the house are right on top of each other, no offense to anyone who lives in those areas, it's just not for us. Cypress & Prince Creek have the look that we desire and don't look like your average beach community.

Just wondering what the final outcome will be with the golf course at Cypress. It doesn't look like there is enough room to put housing, but I guess it is possible.

There is definitely room for houses in the golf course adjacent to parts of Cypress River Plantation but the course is not mixed into the community. Cypress is currently looking into purchasing those parts.

There is also many courses around prince creek area as well and it becomes up to the course owners weather to keep them as a golf course or sell them for housing and grab the money now. Some communities are more mixed into the golf courses than others and are built into the courses themselves so it becomes more of an issue.

We are also looking into Prince Creek...home price $300,000.00. We are in our early 60s....are these communities geared more toward family living?
Looks close to the river...is flooding an issue? Thanks.
