No nutritional options, high crime (and i mean that), and not a lot of room for growth in business.
I had an amazing time attending schooling there but had a first-hand view of what it would have been like to raise children there. Eh.

Spoken by someone who lived in Conway not Myrtle Beach, spent four years there, and doesn't live there now.
How about some first hand experience?
I graduated from Myrtle Beach then graduated USC. My friends all graduated from USC, Clemson, College of Charleston, etc.
My kids graduated Socastee, then Georgia Tech, USC, USC and East Carolina.
All of my friends kids went to college all over the southeast and ALL graduated.
I know many, many of the teachers currently teaching in Horry County. All great talented people.
I think school is what you make of it.
Shockingly, everyone graduated from a better school than Coastal. Not that there is a thing wrong with Coastal. The Edwards family are cousins of mine, the chancellor is a close family friend, I have ties to Coastal.
