Hey there:

Well, we have a vacation planned for Myrtle Beach, SC from July 28th to August 1st. Our girls are climbing the walls, they are so excited.

I was wondering about the weather. I see the forecast says "possibility of thunderstorms". In Myrtle Beach, SC, does this mean it rains all day, with no sunshine, and no one can go into the ocean, nor can they parasail or partake in dolphin cruises?

I know that weather forecasts are not always the most dependable, so I was just hoping someone could clarify whether there were pockets of nicer weather in MB with these types of forecasts?

Thanks,

Elizabeth

We rarely get true rainy days that cover the whole area. Brief showers are more likely in certain pockets. Today for example was reported as 70% chance of rain. It rained briefly this morning here in Little River but by 8 am or so the sun was out and remained so all day. Now at 6PM we have some rain again. The summer forecasts are unlikely to spoil your vacation.

Possibility of t-storms does not equate to all day rain all over coastal SC. Means there will be pop-up t-storms in isolated locations. They start and end within 45 minutes.

Te weather men, all of them, are always correct.

How can you go wrong with this forecast, " A 30% chance of a scattered shower."

WHAT you will never hear is what the humidity will be.
