Greetings!

My family has just built a home outside of Conway and will be making the big move from the NE shortly.

We have done some research on the school system and are aware that Conway is not the most desirable of the choices...
That being said, we have read that Carolina Forest is a nice, yet overcrowded system, but what are some other options? Haven't found too much detailed info regarding the charter schools in the area other than that they exist.

I would appreciate any input from residents-its one thing to read stats online but I'd like to hear personal accounts if possible.

Thank you in advance!

Conway schools are fine. Carolina Forrest tends to start with a whiter, more economically advantaged student (who is often from a transplanted family.) So when you factor the more diverse student body at most Conway schools you can see where the ranking diference is based.

If you are worried about the high school there is a magnate in Carolina Forest off International Drive and an IB program at Socastee that kids from outside their attendence area can apply into.

I will say that Carolina Forest can be alot friendlier to kids who are off the beaen path and Conway still trends more conservative. But diferent strokes...

This is all from the perspective of friends with kids and friends who work for the school system. I am not a parent or teacher/administrator/etc.
