i have some questions for anyone that lives in horry county. First off, I have a 8yr old that will be going to 3rd grade can anyone tell me about the schools? and what areas are better than others? also I am a supervisor in the non-profit field and I am looking for some companies that assistance single mothers with childcare assistance and or other city administrated programs to apply too does anyone have suggestions?
When we first moved down here about 12 yrs ago we gave the public schools in North Myrtle Beach a shot but ended up going the private school route after a couple of years. We found that the school work at the public schools just wasn't demanding enough. We also liked the smaller class sizes in the private schools. I know that it all depends on the teachers your kids end up with at the public schools because some are better than others and can make all the difference in the world. I've heard that many families are happy with the public schools in the Carolina Forest area as well as the Forestbrook school district. If we hadn't chosen the private school route we probably would have ended up moving to one of those school districts.
