I am considering moving to MB SC from NY as I am selling my house and I would like to know if anyone knows if finding a nurse job in MB areas or within reasonable distance is bad? I have been searching and only see little and in the areas I am not experienced in. I am willing to crosstrain if need be. My background is in mental health and corrections. My thoughts to move to the Carolinas is that I cannot take the winters here no more, and the job market here is not good. Closing down facilities all over and taxes here are thru the roof.

This should be in the South Carolina forum... not the North Carolina

I think your post does belong here. I live in NC, right on the Myrtle Beach SC border.

MANY of the people who live here work in SC because it is the closest "city" to us.

There is a new hospital nearby. I don't know that it is "easy" to get a job near Myrtle Beach, but it is worth a try as the area is growing: https://www.novanthealth.org/brunswi...al-center.aspx

Well the Myrtle Beach Metropolitan area does include one North Carolina county now.

South Carolina's state budget is not very progressive regarding mental health funding and corrections. You'd have a better job market if you moved somewhere like Atlanta.

I didn't say it was easy. I just stated that this area of NC is more realted to Myrtle Beach and because of that, the OP is right in poster on this sight.

I'm not sure where in New York you're moving from, but be prepared that Myrtle may not be all you think it is. I suggest renting first, or taking a few months down or what ever you can afford. I grew up in a city in Ohio, loved myrtle on vacation, went to Coastal for college, moved the week I graduated. I love Myrtle Beach in short trips, but was bored quite easily living there (I don't drink or party). That said, you may love it. The coast is beautiful though, Garden City, Litchfield are some wonderful areas to look at.
