Could anyone tell me the average salary for an RN in the Horry County area? My husband will be moving to the area for a new job in May. I will be following him in June after our sons (15 and 10) finish the school year. I am just trying to see if anyone could give me a round about figure. Just interested in knowing if I should expect a pay cut by moving.
I can't speak for all RN positions in that area, but I am an RN of almost 24 years who works for Fresenius, which has locations in pretty much every city in the country, and if I were to transfer from my current clinic in Ohio to one of the Myrtle Beach area clinics, I would take roughly an $8-10/hr. pay cut, depending on if I worked in a chronic unit or in the acutes department where you travel to hospitals in the area to give dialysis treatments. Really, I checked it out because we own a condo in MB and were exploring our relocation options at one time. That comes out to a $17,000-21,000 a year pay cut to do the exact same thing that I am doing now!
MB is awesome, and we will probably snowbird there someday if we don't end up living there year round, but the pay in that area is probably not going to be what you're used to now.
