Thanks. I've tried vrbo - The problem I'm having is that many owners do not update their availability calendars, so I've inquired about dozens that show available for our dates but aren't actually available. .
It depends on what you are looking for. I prefer the Garden City / Surfside Beach area, but if you want to be in Myrtle Beach where everything is you might feel like you are missing something. IMO Surfside Beach has a different feel because it doesn't have the high-rises. Garden City does have high-rises and you might be able to find something more reasonably priced because of it. I love this area, but again, it would all depend on what you are looking for.
Flipkey is another good rental site and is very much like VRBO or Homeaway. I have rented from all three.
For this winter I went thru Flipkey and VRBO and it was so easy and quick.
I like Cherry Grove but I found the southern end of Garden City and Surfside Beach more pet friendly.
For a quick rental I'd try for something in Oceanside Village. You can take a cart to the beach and it has a nice indoor and outdoor pool. That would go under Surfside Beach.
You know, I've never been to the south side. How does it compare? We've stayed everywhere from cherry grove to the grand strand but never South.
We went to Myrtle Beach last week. First time visiting the city even though we have been to Litchfield several times. Myrtle is busy, crowded and fast paced. We didn't like that. Litchfield is slower and uncrowded. Litchfield Beach dot com.
