Atlanta Bread Co. at the Sayebrook/Target Shopping Center has closed. They had really great soups and sandwiches as well as a very nice atmosphere. Are there any other good delis or sandwich shops like this in the Myrtle Beach area?

That place always smelled like something burned in the kitchen. Not surprised it closed. We need Panera Bread in this area. It puts Atlanta Bread to shame.

Oh my gosh. This was a favorite of all my family members. The best sandwiches to be had and not to mention the bear claws. ( Oh what will I do...)
It was so nice to relax by the fire in the winter months. We'd meet there with friends quite often. This is sad.
Yes we do need a Panera Bread but Atlanta Bread was quite equal to that in many ways.
The only other place we like for a good sandwich with great breads is Gershons in Surfside Beach. It is a good deli, but it doesn't have the atmosphere of Atlanta Bread, and no bear claws.

Atlanta Bread Co. isn't doing well in general. They've closed over 1/2 their stores in recent years.

Sounds like the chain isn't being managed very well. I'm quite surprised that there isn't a Panera here. I will give Gershons a try. The only other deli I've tried is Toffino's which puts way too much herb and spices in everything IMO. Any other suggestions?

citynelg, while I haven't "moved in" yet, I've read some very good reviews about the sandwiches at Ryan's Deli Cafe with a few locals claiming it has MB's best sandwiches. Anyhow, they have no website that I can find (they are on Facebook) but they're located at 3481 Belle Terre Blvd just off Hwy 501 a little north of Forestbrook rd.

If anyone has been there, what'd ya think?

There is a New York Deli up in NMB. On 17 business and on the right if your headed south.
They make a good sandwich. There is no atmosphere at all. Well, there is some NY things around.
The person in charge is always over the workers shoulders which makes me cringe.
Besides that they do a nice lunch and have side salads as does Gershons.
We do need a Panera bread or the"Atlantic Bread" Company. Please.......

Ryan's is good...but not great. We've eaten there a couple of times.
