My Dad had State Farm when he moved down and found them more expensive than the independent agent that we use for homeowners insurance . Our independent agent is Davis and Massey Insurance and the specific agent's email is: mellissa@davisandmasseyinsurance.com

He kept his car insurance with State Farm and uses Carolyn Bailey who is near the library in Socastee. He tried the agent in Myrtle Beach but had trouble getting them to return his calls. He's very pleased with the Socastee office which is only a few miles from Forestbrook Reserve.

Congratulations on the house in the Reserve. I think you'll be pleased. We almost built there but ended up in The Park @ Forestbrook instead. Good luck!!

Well then, hello future neighbor. We move into our new place at Forestbrook Reserve Aug 15th. We're sticking w/ State Farm also. Used them here in MI for many a year and during our 4-years in Virginia. Be looking for my DM (direct message) soon.

Mellissa is awesome, one of the few people in MB I've encountered who knows how to take care of business. We insured our condo through her and she is highly responsive and efficient.

We've had State Farm for 40 years +/-. Haven't had a homeowners claim in 20 years+. We were thrilled with them until we moved down here. Three different agents, including our current one, made it plain they could care less whether we stayed with them. We received our annual renewal a couple weeks ago, which contained a 59% increase over last year's rate. When I called my agent, he suggested I shop around. Turned out to be good advice. I'm changing companies on Friday.

Everybody's experience differs with insurance down here. My only advice would be not to assume the best move is to keep what you've got. I've found the relationship between agent and owner to be much, much different down here, as compared to the real world.

Some gorgeous homes for sale in Lk Park Plantation. All three are on the lake. I can never get over the fantastic pricing down here. Priced so low with a porch over looking the lake. With small docks on the lake also. Lots of room in the homes, quite big footage. The hip roofs are what made me love this area so much. I love the look of that more then the traditional look of a regular roofline.
This must set the NY and NJ people into a tailspin. Seeing the quality of home for so much cheaper then up North.
It always amazes me.

I am from South Carolina, and I'm back down here in Columbia at the moment but I lived in Frederick in 2009-midway 2011. You really hate Frederick that much? The town itself is pretty nice just way too expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if MB was actually more affordable.
