We're coming to the point where we have to have a landscape plan for our home plan and I am clueless about his topic. Can someone recommend a PI company for helping us plan and execute a landscape design that won't break the bank?
We want to focus on native plants and low maintenance with an eye for keeping it manageable for an aging couple, so if you know someone who can work within that parameter it would be really helpful.
Thanks

Default Bumping...

I'm still looking for someone that does residential landscape design and installation; anyone here know of a reliable company? We have some trees that need attention from a good arborist.

Not in PI, but you might try this place:

Welcome to the B-Unique Landscap

They did some work for us and we were very happy with the results. We only used them for a one time deal - they installed paver patios and also a gas fire pit in our back yard. They also did a lot of work for some friends of ours and their place looks fantastic.

Oh, and BTW, if you have trees that need to be cut down, or need advice about what to do with your trees; if they are salvageable or too diseased and need to be removed, etc. I have the perfect person for that:

George Aakjer - TCB tree service - 626-1459

He's wonderful and very reasonably priced. Took down about 24 trees for me several years ago. I highly recommend him.

When that place in Murrells Inlet had the big fire a year or so ago (can't think of the name of the restaurant right now - just down from Drunken Jack's and now I'm going to go crazy trying to think of the name!) and had major damage to that huge tree, George offered free advice to them and told them that there was no way that tree could be saved. They refused to listen to him and ended up spending a lot of money to hire another "specialist" who then told them the same exact thing! They ended up having to remove the tree and could've saved themselves a lot of money if they had only listened to Mr. Aakjer. He wasn't trying to make money from it, just trying to help them. He's a good person. Honest and reliable.

These days that sort of business person is hard to find. Thanks so much for the recommendation. We do have some old Live Oaks that need some attention.

Yes! Thanks, Teddy! What a shame when that big beautiful old tree was burned. Dead Dog sure did rally and come back out on top after that. I have to give them credit for having such a positive attitude.
